Of culinary excellence and real estate extravaganza
A recent cooking competition, organized for the residents at a city-based posh luxury villa project, turned out to be real fun event
How much fun can a cooking competition offer? Judging by one such recent event held at Ahmedabad, a lot! ‘Kitchen Queen’, a cooking competition organized for the society members of phase 1 of The Meadows @Gokuldham (a posh luxury villa project), saw 32 couples (one core participant, one helper) taking part and enjoying to the hilt. These participants were cheered on by around 300 spectators at this community event, which was hosted by Archita and Manish.
There were four rounds:
- Quiz
- Onion chopping/Tomato chopping
- Chaat/sandwich/chaas preparation
- Main course–Paneer ka sabji and one Indian bread.
Two eminent judges who chose the winners were Chef Rama Mishra (Executive Chef, Marriott Ahmedabad) and Chef Vikas (Sous chef, Marriott Ahmedabad). Attractive prizes included trophy and griller (first prize), trophy and Sanjeev Kapoor Mixie (second prize) and trophy, tiffin box and heater (third prize). The fun did not end there, as a lavish, delicious dinner spread welcomed all the society members after the event. Besides, activities like musical chair for kids, green chilli eating competition, panipuri eating competition and photo session with aprons and chef caps kept everyone entertained throughout the evening. Elated customers sent plenty of appreciation mails for the event, which coincided with Friendship Day. Pallavi Seth, a resident of villa 137, even wrote an impromptu poem to express her happiness, which she recited later.
